NITK Surathkal invites applications for M.Tech programmes

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has invited applications for admission to Master of Technology (M.Tech) and M.Tech (Research) programmes offered in various disciplines for the commencing session 2014-2015.
The institute offers programme in following specializations:

Civil Engineering
Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
Computer Science and Engineering
Mathematical and Computational Sciences
Information Technology
Mining Engineering
Eligibility Criteria: 
Indian national candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination, class 10 and class 12 / diploma with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60 percent marks in the aggregate are eligible to apply.

How to Apply:
Candidates can obtain the application form from the official website of NITK Surathkal.
Candidates need to send the completed application form to the Asst. Registrar (Academic) NITK, along with necessary D.D. for Rs 500 (in case of SC/ST Rs 150) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, payable at Mangalore.
Selection Procedure:
Admission for GATE qualified candidates will be done through CCMT-2014 coordinated by MNIT Jaipur.
For M.Tech (Research) program, selection of candidates for admission will be based upon GATE score or in some of the programs selection will be based on at least 70 percent weightage to GATE score and the remaining 30 percent weightage to academic performance in qualifying examination or / and written aptitude test or / and Interview etc as decided by the DPGC of the Concerned Department offering the program.
Important Dates:
Last date of submission of the application form: June 16, 2014.
Applications to be sent to the departments for processing: June 17, 2014.
Last date for dispatch of call letters to short-listed candidates: June 23, 2014.
Date of selection test/interview: July 3, 2014 and July 4, 2014.
Publication of provisional selection/merit-list on website: July 9, 2014.
