GATE 2015: Online registration commences

The application process for GATE 2015 commenced on September 1, 2014. Interested candidates will have to apply online through the zonal GATE websites of IISc or any of the seven IITs.

How to apply:
Candidates should first register by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password. Upon registration, an email and SMS containing your GOAPS Enrolment ID will be sent to you. You need to remember this along with the GOAPS password for all GATE 2015 related communications/website operations.
Information required for form filling:

  •  Personal information (name, date of birth, your personal mobile number, parent's name, parent's mobile number etc.)
  • Address for Communication (including PIN code)
  • Eligibility degree details (college address, PIN code of college)
  • GATE paper, choice of GATE Examination Cities
  • High quality image of your photograph conforming to the requirements specified
  • Good quality image of your signature conforming to the requirements specified  
  •  Scanned copy of Degree Certificate or Certificate from Principal/HODs in pdf format only
  •  Scanned copy of Category/PwD Certificate in pdf format only (if applicable)
  • Details of a valid ID Proof
  • Netbanking login and password to make the application fee payment via online net banking mode


Application fee:

The candidates have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1500 (Rs 750 for female/ SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The fee can be paid either online or through e-challan via State Bank of India or Axis Bank (additional bank charges may apply).
Important dates:
  • Start of application process: September 1, 2014
  • Last date for submission of online application: October 1, 2014
  • Last date for request for change in the choice of examination city: November 21, 2014
  • Availability of admit card: December 17, 2014
  • GATE 2015 online examination: January 31, 2015 to February 14, 2015
  • Announcement of results: March 12, 2015

The GATE 2015 score will be valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results. All the papers in GATE 2015 will be held in online mode only and few of the exams will be conducted in multiple sessions.
