The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2015 (WBJEE 2015) results 2015 were declared on June 5.
The students belonging to Indian School Certificate (ISC) Board and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have fared better compared to their counterparts from the West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) board.
The ISC and CBSE students have shone through by bagging seven ranks in Engineering and five among the top 10 ranks in the Medical discipline.
Unlike the CBSE trend, none of the girl candidates made it to the top 10. An ISC student acquired the 27th rank in Engineering. The Medical merit list saw three girls from other boards among the top 30.
The students from Kolkata scored better in Engineering with 1,039 students among the first 10,000 of JEE Engineering while the North 24-Parganas district scored well in the Medical stream, with the maximum 817 students.

The WBJEE board has issued a merit list of 89,882 students, out of the total 1.05 lakh examinees in Engineering. The total number of engineering seats remains the same though a few private engineering colleges have withdrawn streams which have no demand.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations conducts the WBJEE for taking admissions into undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/Architecture. More than 1.5 lakh students appeared for the exam this year.
The WBJEE paper pattern was changed two years ago wherein two hours were allotted to Maths and an hour and a half to Physics and Chemistry. The change came about in order to avoid the more descriptive topics and to give more importance to the analytical ones.
The organisation was established in 1962 with an objective to conduct a common entrance test for the undergraduate level engineering courses in the state of West Bengal.
