University of Madras, Chennai commences its admission process for M.Sc Geoinformatics course

The University of Madras, Chennai has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Master of Science (M.Sc) program in Geoinformatics for the academic session 2015-2016, under private study (CBCS-semester pattern) offered at the Department of Geography. The duration of the programme will be 2 years.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
The candidates applying for this course should have passed BA/B.Sc degree examination with Geography/ Geology/ Physics/ Environmental Sciences/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Agriculture/Remote Sensing as the main subject of study or Geography as one of the subjects of study with knowledge of Mathematics/ Statistics at least at the Class 12 level or B.E Civil Engineering or any Information Technology related fields or an examination of any other university accepted by the syndicate as equivalent thereto.
Also, candidates holding degrees in other subject areas may be considered if they can demonstrate interest, aptitude and experience in a field relevant to the application of geospatial technology.

Application fee:
An application fee of Rs 300 is to be paid by the candidates through demand draft (DD) in favour of 'The Registrar, University of Madras, Chennai'.
The candidates are required to obtain the application form from the official website and send the completed form to 'The Professor and Head, Department of Geography, University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai - 600 005'.
