IIT Bombay CEED 2016: Paper pattern


IIT Bombay CEED 2016

The Indian Institute Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is set to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2016. The Common Entrance Examination for Design is being conducted for admissions to the Master of Design (M.Des) course offered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and also for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in Design offered by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur for the academic session 2016.
The paper pattern for the competitive exam is mentioned below:
  • The exam will be divided into two parts, i.e. Part A and Part B.
  • Part A: This will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) and comprises of three parts, namely Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Numerical Ability Test (NAT) and Multiple Selection Questions (MSQ). The candidates will get one hour to attempt this section
  • Part B: This section will test the candidates on their designing skills.
Eligibility criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design or Interior Design or its equivalent (four-year programme after 10+2).
  • Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or its equivalent of four-year programme after 10+2).
  • B.F.A. (four-year professional programme after 10+2).
  • G.D. Art (five-year programme after Class 10) with one year post qualification professional experience
  • Master's degree in Arts, Science or Computer Applications (two-year programme after 10+2+3)
Application procedure: The aspirants can apply online at the official website.
Application fee: The candidates under the General and OC category are required to pay a fee of Rs 2,000. Those under the SC, ST, PwD and women candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 1,000.
Important dates:
  • November 7 to December 5: Candidates can download their admit cards
  • December 6: CEED to be conducted
  • January 22: Score cards will be released
