JEE Mains 2016: First Seat Allotment to be released on June 30

New Delhi: The Joint Seat Allotment Authority of JEE mains are all set to publish the first allotment of JEE mains 2016 on June 30, 2016.
The qualified candidates can lock their choice of branch as the choice of filling will end today that is on June 29, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.  Hence the aspirants who want to change their options or those who had not frozen the options have to do it as soon as possible before the time ends.
Important dates:
Release of JEE Mains rank list 2016: June 23, 2016
Start of choice filling: June 24, 2016
Last date of choice filling: June 29, 2016 (till 12 noon)
Mock seat allotment: Released
First round of seat allotment: June 30, 2016
First round reporting of Seat Acceptance: July 1, 2016 to July 5, 2016

JEE 2017 Admission Process Changes Notification by MHRD

An official notification stating the changes that will be made while giving the admissions in IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s and CFTI’s from year 2017 has been published on the website of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). Below is the content of the official notification addressing to the Director’s of all IIT’s which is present on the website of MHRD.
1) The lIT Council in its meeting held in October 2015 has constituted a Committee of Eminent Persons to suggest ways for improving the system of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The Committee has, after due consultation with the stakeholders, has· submitted its report to Government, recommending, among other things, to do away with the weightage given to the 12th Class examination marks in the JEE (Mains) ranking.
2) The report of the Committee was examined In consultation with the stakeholders and the Departments of the School Education/Higher Education and the following changes have been approved by the Chairman IIT Council in the JEE pattern for 2017:
a) There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE Main exam.
b) For the candidates to qualify for admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are ·based on the JEE ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th Class exam, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying mark would be 65% In the 12th Class exam.
There is no other change in the JEE examination system for 2017.
3. The Chairman CBSE and Organising Chairman of JEE (Advanced) are requested to take necessary action in the matter.
